John Colley, a Union College alum hailing from the Capital District, boasts over 40 years of experience in the investment and financial sectors. His journey began with humble beginnings as a paperboy for his 110 neighbors, where he learned the value of hard work, perseverance in all weather conditions, and financial responsibility, managing his $42 weekly earnings with discipline by saving 20% and limiting indulgences like fudgcicles.

During his tenure as head of the Trust & Investment divisions at a regional bank, John successfully managed over $3 billion in commingled funds and expertly oversaw the asset/liability portfolio for commercial loans, consistently achieving top performance ratings. He holds a 65 License and has completed the Forbes Stock Market Course, enriching his extensive training under talented industry figures including those at PNC Bank (affiliated with Warren Buffett’s bank).

John is deeply committed to ethical practices, as evidenced by his completion of fiduciary classes, American Institute Banking courses, and involvement with organizations like the Investment Society of NENY. His personal motto emphasizes integrity, emphasizing the importance of trust, rapport, and performance in client relationships.

Beyond his professional achievements, John is dedicated to serving his community. He has held key roles as Treasurer and President for organizations such as the Capital District Hospice, NYS Mental Hygiene Commission (appointed by Governor Mario Cuomo), Arthritis Association, MS Society (NENY Chair & President), S. PLAN, and the American Cancer Society. Additionally, he is a founding member of Pitney Meadows Community Farms and has supported cultural endeavors like the Sinopoli Dance Studio, where he and his wife served as Gala Chairs.

Currently pursuing an advanced graduate degree in Economics, he maintains a passion for sports, albeit with a bit of rust from time away.
